Service Description

As contemplatives, we believe that we meet divine mystery, the source of love and life, in the Now. Mindfulness involves paying attention in the present moment without judgment and with self-compassion. A practice of mindful eating can increase our sense of the sacred within and without throughout our day. It can also help us access the inner wisdom of our bodies that we frequently do not hear or heed and nourish our whole selves-mind, body and spirit. This weekend is planned for you to experience mindful eating and mindfulness meditation from a contemplative perspective. • We will meet on Friday afternoon for a session on our “inner wisdom”. Then we will eat dinner together mindfully and discuss what we noticed during this tasting. • In Saturday sessions before a mindful lunch and dinner, we will explore hunger, fullness, and satisfaction. Saturday evening, we will investigate feeding our hungry hearts. • Finally, on Sunday we will end with resources to become less judgmental and more compassionate to ourselves. There will also be the option to practice remotely via Zoom as a group. Rosemarie Oliver, is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist who has worked in the field of nutritional practice since 1978.
